Hot Fudge Brownie Bread

A rich, fudgy chocolate loaf with hot fudge sauce swirled throughout. Somewhere between a brownie and a dessert bread, and better than both on their own.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup hot fudge sauce plus extra for swirling on top

Equipment

  • 9x5 inch loaf pan
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Spatula
  • Parchment Paper

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x5 loaf pan and line with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk melted butter and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  3. Fold in cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips and hot fudge sauce. Do not overmix once fudge is added.
  5. Pour batter into the pan. Spoon extra fudge on top and swirl with a toothpick.
  6. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until the top is set and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then lift out using the parchment and slice once cooled.

Notes

  • Tent with foil if the top browns too fast before the center sets.
  • Use room temperature fudge sauce for easier mixing.
  • Freeze individual slices for up to 2 months and reheat in the microwave for 40 seconds.
